EDUCATION – Adds to existing law to establish provisions regarding generative artificial intelligence in public education.

The law directs the Idaho State Department of Education to create a statewide framework for generative artificial intelligence in K‑12 classrooms, and requires each public school district and charter school to adopt policies that follow that framework. It also sets AI literacy standards for students, assessment guidelines, and professional‑development plans for teachers, while establishing procurement rules and a parental guidance document. The aim is to ensure AI tools are used safely, transparently, and without replacing human teachers.
