About Docket Room
Docket Room was built on a simple premise: the laws that govern your life shouldn't be a mystery. Every citizen deserves access to clear, unbiased information about the bills moving through their legislatures — not just the lobbyists and political professionals who can afford $50K/year enterprise subscriptions.
AI-powered, human-readable
Every bill on Docket Room gets summarized by AI at three levels — a headline, a paragraph, and a detailed breakdown. Our AI also estimates the probability of a bill advancing at each legislative stage, so you know which bills are actually moving and which are going nowhere.
Strictly nonpartisan
We present facts, not opinions. Our AI is explicitly instructed to be neutral and nonpartisan in every summary and analysis it produces. We don't editorialize about whether a bill is good or bad — that's for you to decide.
Community intelligence
Real watchers can report hearing room sentiment, stakeholder positions, and vote signals — like GasBuddy for legislation. This community layer gives Docket Room real-time intelligence that no API or news feed can provide.
Data sources
Federal bill data comes from Congress.gov (official US government source). State bill data comes from OpenStates (a nonprofit), LegiScan, and direct state legislature APIs for New York, Texas, California, Oregon, Washington, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Minnesota, and Connecticut. All underlying legislative data is public domain.
