Terms of Service

Last updated: June 26, 2026

Acceptance

By using Docket Room you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

What Docket Room is

Docket Room is a legislative tracking tool. We aggregate publicly available bill data and use AI to summarize and analyze it. Our AI-generated summaries, scores, and predictions are for informational purposes only, may be incomplete or inaccurate, and should not be relied upon as legal, political, financial, or professional advice. Always verify against the official source before acting.

Your account

  • You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure
  • You must be at least 16 years old to use Docket Room
  • One account per person; provide accurate information

Acceptable use

When using Docket Room, you agree not to:

  • Break the law, infringe others' rights, or post unlawful or harmful content
  • Scrape, crawl, or bulk-extract the service except through the official API within its limits
  • Resell, redistribute, or sublicense Docket Room content except as expressly permitted
  • Disrupt or overload the service, or attempt to bypass security or access controls
  • Misrepresent Docket Room output as official government information or as professional advice

API

If you are provided API access, you must keep your API keys secret, stay within your plan's rate limits, and use the API only as documented. You may not use the API to build a substantially similar competing product, or to redistribute the underlying datasets in bulk. We may suspend API access that we reasonably believe is being abused.

Community signals

When you submit a community signal, you confirm it is accurate to the best of your knowledge. Don't submit false, misleading, or spam signals. We may remove signals that violate this rule and suspend accounts that abuse the feature.

Intellectual property

The underlying legislative data comes from public government sources. The Docket Room platform — including our software, design, AI-generated summaries, scores, and analyses — is owned by Docket Room and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Docket Room for its intended purpose.

You retain ownership of the content you submit (such as notes and community signals). By submitting it, you grant Docket Room a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and use that content to operate and improve the service.

Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans are billed through Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel any time from your billing settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled case-by-case — email us within 7 days of a charge if you believe you were billed incorrectly.

Termination

You can stop using Docket Room at any time and delete your account from Settings → Profile. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, create risk or legal exposure, or abuse the service. On termination, your right to use Docket Room ends; sections that by their nature should survive (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Docket Room is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep data accurate but make no guarantees about its completeness, accuracy, or timeliness. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Docket Room is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for decisions made based on our data or AI-generated content. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Delaware — except where your local consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring a claim in your own jurisdiction, which we respect.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above. Continued use of Docket Room after an update means you accept the revised terms.
