Summary

Starting Oct. 1, 2026, any bicycle, electric bicycle or electric scooter used on Connecticut public highways must have a white front lamp that works from half an hour before sunset to half an hour after sunrise, during low‑visibility conditions, and in rain, snow or fog. The vehicles must also carry a rear reflector or tail‑light visible from 600 feet, side reflectors, and a brake capable of stopping from 10 mph within 25 feet. Sirens or whistles are prohibited.
